Is this the Ultimate Touring Bike?

In about 10 days I will embark on my my Cycling East adventure and for this epic cycle ride I am lucky enough to be taking not just a good bike but quite possibly the ultimate touring bike currently available.

Life, like cycle touring is full of endless route decisions. While we might think we know the general direction, certain innocuous looking turns can make life changing differences.

A great road ride circuit from Chamonix

This weekend we attempted a road bike circuit that has jumped out of the maps at me for ages.

A quick review on skiing Cervinia and Zermatt

We snowboarded and skied at Cervinia for the ski resorts closing day last week. I guess I like symmetry because that’s the same place we started the northern winter way back on the 14th November, so it’s been a long season!

Climbing at Gaillands Crags, Chamonix and some easter hiking

0

Chamonix has some spectacular climbing areas in the valley. Lots are nicely bolted, some a little bit polished but super fun to spend an evening after work chilling out at. It has been a race against the setting sun during April as we don’t finish work until 6pm but there’s still enough time for 3 or 4 routes here.

The view across to the Mt Blanc Massive, not a bad scene to have at the top of the routes.
