Hiking to the sacred Gosaikunda Lakes – Nepal

Laurebina Pass was a pretty large obstacle on the trek to Gosaikunda Lakes, it looked pretty daunting as it rose up to a height of over 4600m.

Helambu Trek – Himalayas, Nepal

We left kathamandu headed for Sundarijal in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park on an overcrowded local bus, the type of bus that has a chicken flying about and where old lady’s refuse your seat but happily sit on your lap without asking.

After cycle touring across the remote Kegen border crossing into Kazakhstan it hit me that I was in the most amazingly picturesque spot with 360° steppe then the Tian Shan mountains with evening light cast across them. Making it more stunning was the remarkable feeling knowing I had cycled here, all the way from quaint Suffolk in England!!

Cycling East Part 23 – Kyrgyzstan the part with the big lake

The next section of cycle touring  out of Bishkek and around Issyk Kul lake did the impossible and out scenery’d the first part of Kyrgyzstan!
