What we’re doing in 2015.

What is in store for 2015?  Well firstly we’re back in the UK and hopefully going to find a base near Edinburgh after 3+ years living out of boxes and bike or ski bags.  It is going to be a busy year and I have put together a list of cool events and fun cycling races that I have entered or plan on attending. The list hopefully includes some interesting events to inspire you or get you out training as well. It’s no a complete list yet either because there’s a few more in the pipeline too!

Here’s what 2015 has in store so far:

February 12th The London Bike Show

I am excited to be chatting about and showing off the Kinesis Tripster bike that took me 9000km east in 2014! I will be around the Kinesis stand for the first day or two of the show!

March 7th Scottish Enduro MTB race Rd 1

This is on my birthday and this is the first enduro race of the season at innerleithen so I had to enter! Not sure if enduro racing is my thing but should be a fun day on some of the UK’s best off piste trails! I would enter more rounds but can’t afford the £50 entry fee until I get a job!

March 22nd Sheffield Adventure Film festival
I am excited to be reviewing some of the films for this great event so watvh the blog for updates and also to be involved in a fun Cycle Touring Forum, where some experienced cycle tourers and myself will be chatting about adventures and answering questions!

April 10th Paris to Roubaix road sportive race

After some ski touring in Chamonix I will be riding this cobble fest 180km classic with Stuart. Then watching the pros smash it in half our time!

May 2nd Selkirk MTB Mountain Marathon National Champs

We will both ride this fun event around Selkirk in the Scottish borders and hopefully explore some new trails.

This is also the weekend of the cycle touring festival:
Have a look here I can’t go due to being out racing in Selkirk, but it sounds fun and hopefully my Cycling East film will get shown at the event!

May 9th Whinlatter gravity stage race

I have enjoyed riding Whinlatter while staying down in the Lake district so I thought this would be fun.

23rd May Glentress 7 hour MTB race

This is a new one to me and I’m looking forward to it a lot. I know the trails here pretty well so should be quick but that depends more on how fit I am by then!

30th May Enduro World Series MTB race Innerleithen

I didn’t enter this race in the Scottish Borders as it’s a bit too pricey for us unemployed and it sold out in 30 seconds, but I look forward to cheering along and photographing everyone or entering if there’s a free ticket going 🙂 UPDATE I now have a place so getting scared about riding this two day epic, plesae don’t rain!!

June 20th Ten under the Ben 10 hour MTB race

A fun ten hour race in the shadow of Ben Nevis in Scotland. A great event that I look forward to racing again. Last time we came second so fingers crossed!

So that’s the first six months sorted, somewhere I want to fit in a couple of interesting adventures, one maybe involving Africa and the other a compass and maybe cycling east again! Who knows what 2015 will really turn out like, but my diary is looking busy so far!!

If you think I missed a fun race or event that I might like to enter or promote then let me know!
